Lying flat on back (late)
✗ Best to avoid
Lying flat on your back during the third trimester can cause the weight of the uterus to compress the inferior vena cava, reducing blood flow to your heart and baby. This can cause dizziness, shortness of breath, and decreased oxygen to your baby. Use side-lying positions instead.
