Warning signs to stop and call
Bleeding, contractions, chest pain, calf swelling — the list worth stopping for.
Stop exercising and call your provider immediately for any of these: vaginal bleeding, regular contractions, dizziness or feeling faint, chest pain, severe headache, calf swelling or pain, fluid leaking from the vagina, or decreased fetal movement after the movement started.
Mild breathlessness with exertion is normal during pregnancy — larger blood volume and a pressing uterus both contribute. Sudden or severe breathlessness that comes on at rest is different and warrants a call.
Exercise-related discomfort like sore muscles or normal fatigue is fine to push through. Sharp pain, pelvic pressure, or a "something's wrong" feeling is not — err on the side of resting and checking in.
